UX / UI Designer — Structural Redesign

Most products don't need a new look. They need a new structure.

I'm Daniel — I audit existing products, fix the information architecture and layout, and leave your visual identity exactly as it is.

Selected work

Problems solved with structure.

Workshop Trust Platform

Design thesis — Universidad de los Andes

Problem

Car owners in Bogotá have no way to tell which independent repair workshops are reliable before showing up — every option looks the same from the outside.

Approach

Structured a platform connecting drivers with vetted workshops for diagnostics, repairs and parts, built around trust signals instead of a flat listing.

Outcome

Completed and defended as a design thesis, proposing a full structural model — from trust signals to booking flow — for connecting drivers with vetted workshops.

Sinapsis — Healthcare Access Platform

UX case study — healthcare access

Problem

Booking medical care — clinics, hospitals and pharmacies in Bogotá — meant jumping between disconnected channels with no clear starting point.

Approach

Ran user research, defined personas, and structured navigation through wireframes and interactive prototypes, then validated the flow with usability testing before finalizing the interface.

Outcome

Delivered a validated interface — from research through usability testing — ready for handoff, focused on making healthcare access in Bogotá simpler to navigate.

Content & technical communication

Prohelmet Product Catalog & Operator Training

Pronect · Santiago, Chile

Problem

Field teams — miners, riggers, forestry and maritime crews — needed to quickly understand and correctly operate a full line of smart safety helmets, each with different protocols, certifications and use cases.

Approach

Designed the 2024 product catalog end to end — a consistent icon system for validated use cases, structured specs and certification blocks per model — and produced instructional videos so any operator could learn setup and the Mesh communication protocol without a manual.

Outcome

Delivered as Pronect's official 2024 second-semester catalog, distributed to clients and field teams, alongside a self-training video library still used by the Pronect Academy.

Visión and Design — Client Experience

Exclusive high-end & custom auto workshop · Bogotá

Problem

As a high-end workshop working on custom and exotic vehicles — full mechanics, alignment, bodywork and paint — the shop needed its digital products to feel as considered and premium as the cars it works on.

Approach

Redesigned the structure and information architecture of the shop's existing digital products, working within its established brand guidelines rather than introducing a new visual identity.

Outcome

Delivered restructured digital touchpoints aligned with the shop's premium positioning, handed off ready for the team to maintain.

About

Trained to structure information, not just style it.

Daniel Rojas Lasso Bogotá, CO

I'm a designer trained at Universidad de los Andes, focused on taking existing digital products apart and putting the structure back together — clearer navigation, a content hierarchy that matches how people actually read, and layouts a front-end team can build without guessing.

I'm also completing a specialization in Geographic Information Systems, which shows up less in the visuals and more in how I think: I default to evidence over opinion when deciding how something should be organized.

Also — I map risk, not just interfaces.

Outside product design, I build GIS tools. Most recently, a landslide-hazard map following the Colombian Geological Service's (SGC) methodology — classifying risk as high, medium or low and running buffer analysis to define affected zones. Different medium, same instinct: structure the information before you design anything on top of it.
